Experimenting with New Things – Oggleflint

So I’ve been trying out new drawing techniques and also new programs lately. I had heard some good things about Krita and decided to give it a go, because honestly I’ve been pretty frustrated with Adobe’s subscription model for Photoshop, when I’d barely use it and found myself swapping to other programs for their features anyway.

As practice with Krita, I decided to do a full picture of Oggleflint. As some people know, I’m a huge Blizzard fan, and Oggleflint was the first boss in the first dungeon I ever ran, back when I first started playing back in Wrath of the Lich King. Needless to say, I was sad for him being made into *spoiler alert* dog food in the current incarnation of Ragefire Chasm.

I had a lot of fun creating this painting! I noticed that I hardly ever do pictures with full backgrounds, so I was excited to try, but first I had to figure out how to draw a trogg! I had never drawn one of those before either. I had to do a lot of practice sketches, but I’m happy with the way he turned out.
