This is a postcard-sized piece that I painted in gouache as a gift. I really enjoy gouache even though I’m not very practiced at it. There’s something very calming about working with gouache and watercolors, and also about getting your hands dirty.
Do you have a favorite medium you like to work with? I’ve been enjoying painting, but I feel like I end up experimenting with all sorts of things. I’m definitely a “variety is the spice of life” sort of person, but that may also be the adhd.
I also miss having chickens. I feel like they can make pretty good pets, only everything wants to eat them. I love trash pandas, but I’m not sure I’ll ever forgive the one that killed my three pet chickens all in one night. It felt like a huge waste of their lives to me, and I miss them to this day. Perhaps someday I’ll get more, when I can ensure that I can build them a very secure coop to keep little bandits out.
